The University held its Congregation on 24 November 2018 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Professor Way Kuo, CityU President, presided at the congregation to confer degrees upon a total of 71 MBA graduating students in 2018.

CityU MBA organized a 1-day Industry On-site Workshop visiting the Bank of China (BOC) on 21 November 2018. A total of 22 participants visited the Head Office of BOC Life where Mr S.F. Yan, and Ms Elsie Lo, the Chief HRO and Head of HR walked them through the development of its insurance business in Hong Kong.

CityU MBA programme ranked 11th in Asia and Top 5 in Greater China in QS Global Rankings 2019, released in late September 2018. Professor Kevin Chiang, MBA Director said, “Such a global recognition means a lot to all of our students, alumni and staff. We are excited that the programme is making steady progress to be among the top global players.”

More than 120 guests joined the MBA Orientation banquet dinner hosted by the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme on 1 September 2018 outside campus. Guests, faculty, staff, alumni and students were invited to witness the exciting MBA journey that the cohort 2018 students were set to embark on.

Working together with the Imperial College Business School, a group of 40 participants stayed in London for the 10-day Global Brand Management programme in July for lectures, workshops, and a project with Bentley Motors.

More than 30 CityU MBA participants visited Malaysia for a 9-day Enterprise Diagnostic Residential Trip (R-trip) from 20 to 28 May 2018, working as a consultancy group for the Melaka Gateway (MG) project, developed by KAJ Development Sdn Bhd (KAJD).

The 2018 CityU App Innovation Contest held by CityU MBA came to the grand finale in May 2018.

To better understand the latest development of Hong Kong’s transportation system and logistics, CityU MBA bought the MBA participants to the Hong Kong Ferry (Holdings) Co. Ltd. and the MTR Corporation Limited for a 1-day on-site workshop.

Tailor-made for participants who plan to start-up their own business, the two-week Entrepreneurship and Venture Plan Development Workshop held at UC Berkeley in March 2018 covered the skill sets required from formulating ideas to crafting pitches for venture capital.

With the theme “One Health, Digital Society, Smart City”, the 2018 CityU Digital Business Innovation Festival, which organised by the MBA Programme and supported by over 20 industry partners, was held from 23rd – 27th January.
