The purpose of this course is to help students master the essential concepts and practices of modern marketing that firms need for both domestic and international markets, with a focus on sustainability and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations. Case studies and group projects will be utilised extensively to achieve this objective. Active class participation and sharing of personal experiences are strongly encouraged.

This course examines how global exponential disruptions shape the transformation journeys of diverse international organisations. Through case studies and realworld examples, we explore key themes including digitalisation, cross-border market expansion, building agile teams, leading innovation, redefining customer relationships, and integrating ESG-driven strategies, etc .. all with the goal of identifying and capitalizing on future-proof opportunities.
The course features insights from international organisations across major economies, including China, the U.S., Singapore, Hong Kong, and other regions. It covers multiple industries including banking and financial services, global industrials, family businesses, media and entertainment, and emerging energy models, analysing both strategic and leadership challenges in a rapidly evolving global landscape.
Students will learn how to use AI to conduct descriptive, predictive, diagnostic, or prescriptive analytics for a selected topic and how AI solves the pain points of a selected industry.

This course examines how financial services are being rebuilt around digital platforms, shared ledgers, and automated decisions. It covers blockchain technology, Bitcoin and Ethereum, decentralized finance, tokenized real-world assets, stablecoins and central bank digital currencies, followed by payment systems, digital lending and crowdfunding, robo-advising, cybersecurity, and regulatory technology. For each topic the course separates what the technology does, what problem it solves, how the business earns money, what risks it creates, and who is accountable under which regulation, with Chinese Mainland and Hong Kong policy covered alongside international comparisons. Designed for beginners, it is taught through mechanisms and cases rather than technical detail and does not require programming. Students work in teams on a venture proposal and a company case.

You will gain foundational knowledge in key areas, including large language models and prompt engineering. The core of the course involves developing a group project based on your own professional challenges, utilizing accessible, no-code/low-code AI tools. The goal is to learn how to scope, test, and communicate AI-enabled solutions for real-world business problems.
This course helps you develop a way of thinking on how individuals make choices among investment alternatives. We will explore the design of optimum portfolios of securities in an uncertain environment and the measurement of their performance over time. Furthermore, the role of international markets and recent developments in investment management will also be discussed. This is not meant to be a 'get-rich-quick' course. It proposes solutions and techniques subjected to real-world data and particular attention will be given to the provision of lasting conceptual frameworks, useful to analyze new ideas and future challenges in the investment environment.

With placements in international businesses, banking, financial services, insurance, accountancy firms, etc. based on students' career or professional interest, students are expected to gain a practical understanding of business operations and the professional contexts in which they are expected to apply the theory and skills they have learned in the formal curriculum.

The Professional Forum is a thought-provoking and practice-driven platform where thriving business executives, prominent government officials, prestigious scholars, inspiring entrepreneurs, well-regarded celebrities, influential opinion leaders, pioneering specialists, and innovative practitioners are honourably invited by course leader, students or self-nominated to:

Students will learn to apply design thinking techniques to tackle complex business challenges, enhance customer experiences, and foster creativity. The course covers the stages of the design thinking process: empathise, define, ideate, prototype, and test, at the same time emphasising cultural considerations that influence innovation strategies in diverse markets. Participants will conduct market research, develop low-fidelity prototypes, and engage in user testing to refine their solutions. By the end of the course, students will be equipped to apply design thinking to real-world business problems, develop culturally aware innovative solutions, and collaborate effectively in diverse teams. This course is ideal for business leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals looking to enhance their innovative capabilities in the global market.
Effective communication is a cornerstone of business leadership and professional success. This course aims to equip MBA students with the essential communication strategies and competencies required to excel in the modern business environment. Throughout the course, students will explore the foundations of business communication, develop proficiency in written, oral, and digital communication, and learn to navigate interpersonal, intercultural, and team-based scenarios. Special emphasis is placed on communication for leadership, influence, and career advancement.
This course equips future business leaders with the knowledge, tools, and case studies to tackle pressing sustainability challenges and navigate evolving global dynamics. It covers core ESG topics, developing climate strategies, sustainable finance principles, and solutions balancing organizational, social and international trade priorities. Students will learn to:
• Understand key environmental, social, and governance issues;
• Craft robust company-wide climate strategies;
• Master sustainable finance frameworks; and
• Deliver financing solutions aligned with social priorities.

Global Immersive Experiences (a minimum of 6 credits)
This course aims to provide the tools and the know-how for the students to use innovation and entrepreneurship in the corporate setting, or in the open market.
Students will have the opportunity to visit and interact with entrepreneurs and senior executives of a broad range of successful businesses, corporations, and organisations in a selected location typically outside Hong Kong. They will be exposed to different national environments, advantages/disadvantages and problems/opportunities associated with various forms of business operations, and management strategies of global organisations.
The course will take the form of an on-site workshop of approximately 1 day duration in Hong Kong or other international cities. Students are required to do pre-work in searching information about the host company and relevant theory before undertaking the visit, accompanied by their lecturer. A seminar will be given by the top management of the host company and they will share with participants their managerial experience and the real case studies of the company. At the end of the talk, students will be invited to actively participate in the Q&A session, discuss with the speaker(s) and interact with other participants. Speaker(s) will then give assignment questions to students to write a report.
Full attendance at the workshop and submission of an individual report of about 1500 - 2000 words. Each student has to submit a report based on the questions assigned by the management of the host company. In addition, students are required to form a group of 3 to 5 persons and give a group presentation.
The global learning trip in Hangzhou will provide students with an immersive and insightful experience into China’s dynamic e-commerce and digital innovation ecosystem. Through a combination of expert lectures, hands-on activities, and corporate visits, participants will gain valuable exposure to Alibaba’s technological advancements, business strategies, and corporate culture.
This trip aims to integrate and consolidate key aspects of students’ learning by applying acquired knowledge and skills in a new and uncertain environment outside of Hong Kong. Throughout the trip and the subsequent follow-up period, students enhance their managerial problem-solving abilities and test their capacity to collaborate effectively in challenging and high-pressure situations.
This course aims to deepen students' understanding, sensitivity and appreciation of cultural diversities, and enhance their intercultural competencies and broaden their global outlook and knowledge of different economic, political and social systems.
