This course aims to enable students to understand both the theory and practice of capital budgeting and corporate financing and to apply the knowledge to make financial decisions in a global business environment. By solving real life problems in the areas such as capital budgeting, capital structure, cross-border financing strategies, and dividend policy, students will develop the ability to innovate and adapt financial decision-making frameworks across international markets.
This course aims to develop managers' ability to:
• Interact with accountants and finance professionals with regard to the accounting craft;
• Appreciate the process of financial statement analysis;
• Assess the accountant's professional judgement from both the functional and ethical perspective that impact on the determination of profitability and financial situation of a business entity;

This course introduces students to the concept of Information Systems in organisations, and how Information Systems can assist managers in coordinating organisational activities, communicating with internal and external parties and making decisions. The course has a strong international flavour, with cases from organisations and situations globally. Students can expect that their own comfort zones will be challenged as they develop an appreciation of how information systems are influencing international business practices.
This course explores effective managerial decision-making principles in complex business environments, emphasising sustainability. Students will learn decision-making frameworks, data analysis techniques, and risk assessment strategies while integrating ethical considerations and sustainability into their choices.

This course aims to:

Upon successful completion of this course, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of the concepts, practices, and implications of organisational behavior topics, such as negotiation, corporate social responsibility (CSR), and trade in a global context, with a strong emphasis on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. They will develop the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to become effective leaders who can address real-world business challenges across diverse organisations and cultural environments. The purpose of this course is to help students master the essential concepts and practices of modern marketing firms need for both domestic and international markets. Case studies and group project will be heavily used to achieve this objective. Active class participation and personal experience sharing thus are strongly encouraged.

This course focuses on the impact of global exponential disruptions through the lens of a diverse set of international organisations through transformation journeys. These journeys include digitalisation, international market expansion, making agile teams work, leading innovative projects, re-imagining customer relationships, implementing ESG-related business strategy, etc., with the aim to identify and seize significant future-proofing opportunities. Last but not least, this course will focus on organizations from China, US, Singapore, Hong Kong, and other regions covering industries such as banking/financial services, global industrials, family business, media and entertainment, new energy models, etc., in both strategy and leadership contexts.
Students will learn how to use AI software to conduct descriptive, predictive, diagnostic, or prescriptive analytics for selected global topics and how blockchain applications solve the pain points of selected global industries.
The course aims to teach students data mining and predictive analytics models and tools for data analysis in business related applications, including applications in finance, marketing and operations etc. The course also teaches students practical skills on handling data, conducting analysis in statistical software packages, and visualising and presenting data analysis findings.

This course aims to provide students with the required work experience in local and overseas contexts for a period of time. With placements in international businesses, banking, financial services, insurance, accountancy firms, etc. based on students' career or professional interest, students are expected to gain a practical understanding of business operations and the professional contexts in which they are expected to apply the theory and skills they have learned in the formal curriculum.

FinTech industry is a new fundamental revolution formed in the international financial environments. It has significant impacts to the traditional revenue structure of global financial institutions. The course gives students a unique opportunity to learn the latest developments faced by FinTech market. The course will be taught from a view of FinTech trends and applications, e.g. on-line payments, AI technology innovations, and the operational solutions for KYC/AML/Compliance issues. Analysis methods using AI technology will be demoed and used to show the applications. In addition, the course will get in touch with how to run a start-up company in FinTech industry and the VC funding support. This course aims to provide the tools and the know-how for the students to use innovation and entrepreneurship in the corporate setting, or in the open market.
Students will have the opportunity to visit and interact with entrepreneurs and senior executives of a broad range of successful businesses, corporations, and organisations in a selected location typically outside Hong Kong. They will be exposed to different national environments, advantages/disadvantages and problems/opportunities associated with various forms of business operations, and management strategies of global organisations.
Brands are a key source of value for customers worldwide. As manufacturing technologies converge and global routes to market become increasingly competitive, brands serve as critical points of differentiation—and thus, drivers of competitive advantage for firms internationally. This course offers a focused exploration of brands as strategic assets in a global context.
The course aims to deepen your understanding of essential issues in planning and evaluating brand strategies across diverse markets; to examine the most effective and innovative frameworks, models, and tools for making impactful branding decisions; to explore how the digital economy is reshaping brands globally and how to maximise the opportunities it presents; and to provide practical workshops that enable participants to apply these principles in an international setting.
Students will take part in an intensive global learning trip, collaborating with global apparel manufacturer Esquel. The trip will include visits to their Hong Kong headquarters, as well as factories and showrooms in Foshan and Guilin, to explore sustainable garment production practices. This immersive experience will provide participants with firsthand insights into how Esquel, as a leading manufacturer, integrates sustainability into its business model, driving innovation and competitive advantage. Through this course, students will gain a deeper understanding of sustainable practices in the apparel industry and their impact on business success in the Asian context.
The global learning trip in Hangzhou will provide students with an immersive and insightful experience into China’s dynamic e-commerce and digital innovation ecosystem. Through a combination of expert lectures, hands-on activities, and corporate visits, participants will gain valuable exposure to Alibaba’s technological advancements, business strategies, and corporate culture.
This trip aims to integrate and consolidate key aspects of students’ learning by applying acquired knowledge and skills in a new and uncertain environment outside of Hong Kong, typically within Asia. Throughout the trip and the subsequent follow-up period, students enhance their managerial problem-solving abilities and test their capacity to collaborate effectively in challenging and high-pressure situations.
