What do you enjoy most about teaching CityUHK MBA students?
I deeply enjoy the diverse backgrounds and perspectives that CityUHK MBA students bring to the classroom, coming from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and other Asian countries. This diversity enriches discussions and fosters a vibrant learning environment. I also appreciate their eagerness to challenge ideas and engage critically, leading to meaningful debates and deeper understanding. The most rewarding part of teaching is witnessing students apply their knowledge to real-world challenges and grow intellectually.
How do you combine theoretical concepts with the latest industry practices and business trends?
I integrate core finance and investment theories with current market developments by incorporating up-to-date case studies, financial news, and the practices of leading investment banks. For instance, in Investment Analysis and Portfolio Management, I connect current market information with stock selection, bond analysis, portfolio optimisation, and fund performance evaluation.
Additionally, I explore how traditional investment analysis can be enhanced through AI applications and linked to ESG principles. This approach ensures students recognise the relevance of theory in practice and are prepared for the dynamic business environment ahead.
