Ms. Rachel Ho, a seasoned marketer, strategic leader, global brand curator and impact driver, with over 25 years of regional experience across multinational corporations and mission-driven organisations, credits her transformative journey to the City University of Hong Kong (CityUHK) MBA programme. With a strong foundation in strategic marketing, brand building and stakeholder engagement, Rachel found the MBA programme to be a pivotal chapter in both her professional and personal development.
“The CityUHK MBA is more than just an academic programme. It’s a catalyst for growth — not only as a business leader but also as a person. It gave me the tools to lead with confidence and to build meaningful connections that last far beyond the classroom.”
One of the most memorable and impactful experiences for Rachael was the residential trip to Dalian, China, where students were tasked with analysing the business model and operational challenges of a local department store. Collaborating with a diverse team of classmates from different industries and cultural backgrounds, Rachel navigated real-world business scenarios under time constraints — much like in a corporate setting.
“It pushed me out of my comfort zone. We had to align different perspectives, work under pressure, and communicate across diverse cultures and languages— just like in real business environments. That experience really sharpened my leadership, problem-solving, and cross-cultural communication skills.”
This hands-on, immersive learning approach resonated deeply with Rachel, reinforcing her passion for strategic thinking and collaborative leadership — qualities that have defined her success across roles in the technology, professional services, and non-profit sectors.
Beyond career advancement, Rachel highlights the lifelong value of the CityUHK MBA network. The friendships and professional relationships built throughout the programme continue to be a source of support and inspiration.
“My cohort didn’t just stay as classmates — we became true friends. Even now, we support each other through work challenges, share life insights, and celebrate each other’s milestones. That kind of network is priceless.”
Today, Rachel continues to lead impactful marketing strategies while staying committed to contributing to the community. Her professional journey includes leadership roles in organisations that span commercial success and social impact, and from Fortune 500 to Charity organisations— a testament to her belief in the power of business to create meaningful change.
To those considering the programme, Rachel offers this advice: “The CityUHK MBA is a wise investment for professionals across all sectors — whether you’re in the commercial world or working in social impact. The curriculum is comprehensive, the faculty is world-class, and the experience will shape not just your career, but your perspective as a leader.”
With her unique blend of business acumen and social commitment, Rachel Ho exemplifies the values of the CityUHK MBA — empowering individuals to lead with purpose, agility, and heart in today’s complex business landscape.
