The CityUHK MBA programme partnered with the Interactive Advertising Bureau Hong Kong (IAB HK), the largest and most influential digital marketing non-profit community in Hong Kong, to host a dynamic networking and sharing session: "Frontiers in Marketing: The AI Evolution" on May 30, 2025.
The event brought together renowned speakers and distinguished guests from various sectors, including digital technology, banking and finance, consulting, and insurance. CityUHK MBA students, alumni, and professors united to explore the latest marketing trends, with a particular focus on the transformative role of artificial intelligence (AI).
On a delightful Friday afternoon, attendees gathered at the Faculty Lounge at CityUHK to discover how AI is revolutionising marketing strategies and enhancing service offerings. Our speakers, consisting of Dr. Yvonne Leung, Mr. Terence Wong, and Mr. Fanko Yim provided valuable insights into the evolution of AI within their industries, illustrating innovative tools and techniques that enhance customer engagement and streamline operations. Attendees learned about the tangible benefits of AI, from improving product personalisation to optimising service delivery, making the session not only informative but also inspiring for those looking to leverage AI in their own organisations.
Dr. Yvonne Leung, Director of Customer Transformation & Growth from Bupa, highlighted the revolution of digital technology within healthcare while maintaining a human touch. In their healthcare app, users can scan their face for vital sign assessment in just 30 seconds using AI computation and big data. The health analysis results are detailed and recorded, making the data easily accessible for tracking during doctor visits. Additionally, the app would recommend follow-up actions based on the results.

On a more day-to-day basis, one notable piece of advice from our speaker, Fanko, Head of Data & AI Transformation at CMRS Group, emphasised the importance of incorporating AI into our daily lives, suggesting a target of integrating AI into our routines by 50%.

Additionally, Terence Wong, Vice President at Cherrypicks, advised everyone to use AI to generate questions for HR managers during interviews, demonstrating how AI can enhance interview preparation.

The event fostered a learning atmosphere and provided a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leaders while gaining firsthand knowledge of how AI is revolutionising the marketing landscape. This event also complements the Digital Marketing course that emphasises theoretical foundation. It generated meaningful connections and sparked lively conversations about the future of marketing in the age of AI and blockchain.
