MBA students and guests attended the College of Business on 29 October 2013, for the first MBA Programme Executive Discovery and Network seminar series delivered by Dr Norman Leung, Executive Chairman of Television Broadcasts Ltd (TVB). Dr Norman Leung offered timely and interesting insights into the need for building a professional career, and the essence of being a visionary leader. During his presentation, Dr Leung shared with us his career life from becoming a lawyer, to the Chairman for a number of transport companies and organizations, and later on appointed as the Executive Chairman of Television Broadcasts Ltd, the free-to-air television network giant in Hong Kong. He has also outlined his experience and major challenges that he has overcome in different positions. Dr Leung stated the importance of discovering career interests, learning from the success of others and handling challenges with a proactive and positive manner. MBA students had taken part in the Q&A that addressed queries regarding Dr Leung’s professional careers and practical aspects of being a senior executive.

"The world is changing rapidly and same to the entertainment industry, and that change is being driven by technology. We will need to move with time and be prepared for new changes ahead", said Dr Norman Leung. "Always remember the future is in your own hand, never be discouraged by failures and trust that today is the first day of the rest of your life" Special guests included our CityU President Professor Kou Way, Dean of College of Business Professor Yan Houmin, MBA Programme Director Dr Kevin Chiang, Adjunct Professor Dr Fenella Chu and Dr Wilson Chan.
