CityU MBA hosted the SHARP Forum on 28 March themed “Unraveling Supply Chain Complexity in the Greater Bay Area”, discussing the challenges and opportunities in logistics industry in the Greater Bay Area (GBA) amid the digital transformation era.
Professor Houmin Yan, Dean, College of Business and Chair Professor of Management Sciences kicked off the forum by sharing his research experience. Professor Yan first gave an overview of the supply chain development the GBA, followed by a case sharing of the port-park-city business model of China Merchants group and its recent investment in Sri Lanka.
The forum then followed by Ir Elsa Yuen, President of the Hong Kong Logistics Association, who discussed the new logistics features and infrastructures in Hong Kong and how they help the City embrace the rapid development in the GBA. The third guest speaker was Mr Tommaso Tamburnotti, Co-Founder of Easyship, who shared how new technologies solve problems in global shipping.
The last part of the forum was a panel discussion led by Professor Simon Ho, President of the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, who served as a moderator to facilitate in-depth discussion among the speakers and the audience.
