UBS, in collaboration with CityUHK MBA and CityUHK Business Innovation Education (BIE), hosted an exclusive market outlook seminar at UBS's International Finance Centre (IFC) office in Central on 26 March 2025. The event attracted CityUHK business students and alumni, focusing on Q2 market trends with a special emphasis on tech stocks' prospects.
The seminar featured insights from industry and academic experts. Key speakers included Ms. Winni Cheuk, Head of Sales, APAC Public Distribution at UBS, alongside Professor Tina Choi, Founding Director of CityUHK BIE and Professor Chak-fu Lam, CityUHK MBA Programme Director. A popular financial KOL, Mr. Marco Leung (Tongcow 唐牛) from Hong Kong Strategists Media, also shared his perspectives on market trends. Mr. William Lam, a renowned MC, facilitated the bilingual event as both moderator and interpreter, ensuring seamless communication between Cantonese and English-speaking participants. Also in attendance were Prof. Mike Leung, Adjunct Professor, Ms. Sherry So, Chief Revenue Officer of Hong Kong Strategists Media, and Ms. YoYo Tsang, a host with the media organisation.
Professor Chak-fu Lam emphasised: "More than ever, MBA students should spend at least 80% of their time connecting with industry leaders to expand their network and gain industry-specific knowledge.”
Professor Tina Choi moderated an engaging panel that analysed Q2 tech investment trends while bridging to career development. Panellists Ms. Winni Cheuk and Mr. Marco Leung shared valuable advice on building successful investment banking careers, complementing market analysis with practical professional guidance.
MBA student Zhu Zhengxinran appreciated the practical insights: "This visit gave us a deeper understanding of CBBC operations and risk management. Ms. Winni Cheuk's sharing also demonstrated UBS’s expertise in derivatives."
