A warm welcome to the 2021 Cohort! The new students kicked off their MBA journey with a series of Orientation activities in the first week of September with various workshops and networking sessions with the current students, alumni, mentors and faculty members.

Industry experts from the retail and financial services sector in Hong Kong joined the CityU MBA SHARP Forum on 6th May 2021 to share insights on the topic: Consumers and the New Reality: Boosting Immunity against Competitive Threats with Digital Innovation. Over a hundred of the audience participated in the Forum in-person and online.

The 1st SHARP Forum in 2021 has successfully completed with Industry leaders (Aaron Yim, Ricoh Hong Kong; Jordan Kostelac, JLL; Guru Balasubramaniam, Rentokil Initial; and Eric Yeung, Smart City Consortium) sharing their views on the development of digitalisation and automation technology in future workplace.

We are excited to share the successful kick-off of our 2021 MBA Business Mentoring Programme. Our Programme Director Prof Chiang expressed his appreciation to our mentors for helping our students with their career development through this programme. During the event, the mentors had given the students inspirational sharing while breaking boundaries between online attendees and physical presence discussion on the topics given.

We were delighted to have invited Mr Terry Chan, FinTech Senior Manager of InvestHK, Mr Edmond Liu, Managing Director of Lingfeng Capital and Dr Dorothy Chau Director of HK, Macao & Cross-borders Financial Affairs of Tencent on 10 Dec sharing their insights of the current Financial Industry landscape. We have learnt so much about the current trends and tactics in the Fintech sector. A big thanks to our speakers, and we look forward to our future cooperation!

It was delightful to welcome the new students in the MBA Orientation from 12 to 13 September 2020 at the City University campus and online virtual classroom. Under the pandemic, the orientation activities were carried out in a hybrid format that a limited number of students under the social distancing measure joined the activities in-person. Some international students affected by the travel restrictions attended the events and connected with their new fellows through the online meeting platform.

In early July 2020, CityU MBA students taking in the Services Marketing Workshop kicked off the consultancy project sponsored by the Hong Kong Ferry Holdings Limited (HKF) to help repositioning services marketing strategy of the company's Harbour Cruise – Bauhinia. With the assistance of Dr. David Ho (MBA'1999), JP, HKF Group General Manager, offering this tremendous experiential learning opportunity, the students participated in a real-life marketing project and put what they have learnt in the workshops into an actual business proposal.

The experiential learning course "Entrepreneurship and Venture Plan Development" has commenced in early July 2020. Students have gone through a series of workshops to prep them to develop their business ideas and venture proposals focusing on the Greater Bay Area in this course.

CityU MBA Programme has entered the FT’s 2020 MBA top-100. “This means that the achievements of our students, graduates and faculty have received a wider level of global recognition.
